To Rent or To Buy... That is the question.

So many times I counsel buyers as to what the benefits are to buying a home vs. renting a home.  However, you are the only one who can determine if the timing is right for you.  Working with first time home buyers on Long Island, there are so many options a buyer has when beginning their home search.  Even if the budget cannot stretch to afford a residential home purchase, there are more affordable options for condo or co op purchases.  If you are debating what the right move may be for you whether it is to rent or buy on Long Island, check out this article below for some interesting charts, tips and variables that come into play when making your decision.  You can always contact me for a buyer consultation where we can also sit down together and discuss your options.

As a local agent working in our community, I work in two capacities.  One is to represent the Seller and assist them in the sale of their home, and the other is to represent the Buyer as a Certified Buyer Representative and assist them in the purchase of their home.

By default, agents on Long Island represent the seller.  So if you walk into one of my open houses, I would explain to you how I am there on behalf of the seller and you would be asked to sign an agency disclosure.  If you chose to have me work with you exclusively in finding a home, we would then form what is called a Buyer Broker Agreement.

There are many benefits to having an agent represent you and  your interests. One of them is help you to negotiate the purchase of your home.  This article discusses the importance of "comparables" or "comps" and how by doing some research and having the right agent on your side, you can have a successful real estate transaction.

If you are thinking of purchasing a home, and would like more information about having an agent represent YOU, call me today at 631-681-8820.

It is 2015 and the market it picking up!  But don't take my word for it.  Check out this article that discusses today's market and first time home buyers!  Millenial buyers are in better shape than ever to purchase their first home
